1 out of every 5 babies born in Congo today will die by the age of 5.
That is why if you ask parents in Congo how many children they have, most mothers and fathers will respond with something along the lines of “I have five. Four are living,” or “I have three. One is living.”
This tragedy is compounded by the reality that these children are dying of malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and upper respiratory conditions—all of which are easily treatable and curable. These are health conditions that tragically claim these little lives every day. This injustice mandates our attention and our action.
Paul Carlson Partnership gives laser focus to this reality by providing life-saving equipment and expertise to the poorest people in the world’s poorest country. Every year, we provide over $300,000 for the purchase of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
In addition, PCP sent three Medical Ambassador teams to Congo in the last year to equip Congolese doctors, nurses and administrators. These teams utilize a “training the trainers” model for multiplied impact. The PCP Medical Ambassadors program recruits stateside medical professionals to strategize and implement medical training and services in collaboration with Congolese medical professionals.
You can be a part of the solution!
Calling all medical professionals! We are recruiting medical professionals to join a Focus Group, join a teacher training team, or consult with us.
Calling all volunteers! We are recruiting volunteers to help with logistics stateside.
Calling all philanthropists! That‘s you! You have the opportunity to save lives by investing financially in the medical system that thousands of children rely on.
$ 5,000 will support a Medical Ambassador trip to train Congolese medical workers
$1,000 will provide local salaries to retain those trained
$500 will underwrite desperately needed pharmaceuticals
$125 will provide medical supplies for a day
$50 will underwrite patient costs where healthcare is unaffordable
Unless we work together, 20 percent of Congolese children will die 95 years before many children born at the same time in the United States.
It is an injustice we cannot ignore, and it is a tragedy that can be overcome. Join us to combat these treatable, curable diseases. Be a part of the PCP legacy.
