Dear *|FNAME|*,
The compelling story of missionary Dr. Paul Carlson, who died while serving the people of DR Congo, continues to foster engagement in medical, infrastructure, and economic development. On November 3, 2019, we invite you to share his story to all generations, and discover how our partners in holistic gospel ministry are transforming lives today.
We can help you host a PCP Sunday at your church! From worship songs in Lingala to the Congo Clinic Experience, there are many ways to support our partners in Congo and remember the legacy of Dr. Paul Carlson. Visit paulcarlson.org/pcpsunday for ideas and more.

Faith Covenant Church
Farmington Hills, Michigan
Dear Friends,
Thanks for your prayers, support and encouragement for our Fourth Annual Brothers Biking for Congo ride in support of Paul Carlson Partnership's Congo Clinic Initiative! With your help we were able to again raise $10,000+ for rural health care in the NW region of D.R. Congo, in Africa, where we partner with our Congo Covenant Church.
Earlier this summer in seven weekly rides I logged 322 miles in Michigan. August 17-22, together with my brother and brother-in-law, we rode another 226 miles in six days in and around San Jose/Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and on the Pacific Coast through Santa Cruz to make a total of 548 miles for the two parts of this summer’s ride—Michigan and California.
The three photos shown:
- Day 1—Brothers Dennis & Rod Carlson, brother-in-law, Ron Peterson (from MI, CA & MN respectively) at Almaden Reservoir, south of San Jose.
- Day 2—Dennis and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
- Day 6—Brothers, Dennis & Rod Carlson above Capitola approaching the end of the ride on the beach below.
Over the of course of four summer rides—Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, and California—my brother and I have ridden 1,636 miles and have raised over $50,000!!!
To God be the glory and Thanksgiving together with the people of Congo!

As CCI comes to a close, our vision for every family to have access to quality healthcare in Congo hasn’t changed. God is leading PCP and Covenant Church of Congo medical professionals to develop strategy whic serves this shared vision of holistic healthcare. In 2020, we will begin UCare4Congo, which encompasses four important areas for growth and improvement in the ongoing, lifesaving activities of the Covenant Church of Congo healthcare system: training, medicines and supplies, quality patient care, and infrastructure.
In the next few months, we will share more details about UCare4Congo because we know how deeply YOU care for Congo. In the meantime, let’s finish CCI strong, and together we will see God move!

Bogose Nubea Hospital Celebrates Its First Clean Water System
|
|
|
Last Friday we received an encouraging email update from our friend and colleague, Gaspy Zongalinga, who is leading in the developing and installing of a new water well and distribution system at Bogose Nubea Hospital. This concept came to fruition through a collaboration with our medical partners in the CEUM, water engineers (Trésor, Mambo, Mozart, and Gaspy), and the CECU drillers. After CECU drills the well, Gaspy will install a solar pump, a holding tank, and will run lines to 2-4 sites to the Hospital, Maternity Ward, Pediatric Ward, and one for the general population. His message is below:
Dear PCP,
I am very happy to inform you that we officially launched the drilling work today. The CEUM leaders and pastors, medical leaders, community leaders, and the general population attended the ceremony.
The people in Bogose were very happy to attend the long-awaited ceremony that will give access to drinking water to the population. The ceremony address was given by Rev. CEUM Vice-President Jacques Vungbo. He preached from the Gospel of John 4:1-12. The theme was "Jesus Christ is the water of life.''
Drilling the well will begin on Monday because the vehicle carrying the water tank experienced a breakdown along the way.
My greetings to all of you.
God bless you,
Gaspy ZONGALINGA

Karawa Nursing Dorm Rehab Underway!
|
|
|
|
Ann Hagensen, PCP Medical Ambassador, held a fundraiser on September 7, featuring the community choir, Breath of Aire, to raise funds to repair the Karawa Nursing Dorms in DR Congo. Through this fundraiser and a matching gift, they raised $18,087! Now we have more than enough we need to repair the nursing dorms.
|
|
|
To date, the college level nursing dorm (ISTM) roof has been replaced and more materials are on their way. The funds will also provide for rehabilitation of the high school level (ITM) nursing dorms for girls and boys.
Praise God! Thank you to many generous donors!
