Dear Ambassadors,
We have all had a long, eventful winter and look forward to the beauty and growth of spring. And some of us are looking forward to heading to Congo on March 26!
For two weeks, representatives from the Pediatrics and OBGYN focus groups will teach a maternal-health unit called Helping Mothers Survive, developed by the very same Laerdal Foundation who developed the successful Helping Babies Breathe program. Our Hospital Administration focus group leader will also be with the team to work with the CEUM administrators. This will be an important time of strengthening relationships and setting goals for our next year of service and teaching.
This trip is a result of the exciting work done by three of our focus groups. If you’d like to learn more about being actively involved in a group, please read more here or email Mary Stockmeyer. As we continue to develop our medical work in the Ubangi region of the D.R. Congo, the Medical Ambassadors focus groups remain one the most active ways you can be involved.
Please pray for this trip, for each team member, and for the remaining financial needs. There are supplies and medication to purchase and research to do. We still need to purchase two medications for the training and an initial supply to leave with the Congolese, in addition to the other supplies and resources for the training.
We remain grateful to you, the Paul Carlson Medical Ambassadors, for your faithful prayers and financial support over the past three years. We will update you soon on the results of our trip and on upcoming events for the Paul Carlson 50th this fall.
May the Lord Bless and Keep you.
In Christ,
Eric Gunnoe
