Meet Jacques Lomande, Regional Manager

We are happy to introduce to you Jacques Lomande. Jacques has agreed to serve as PCP’s new Gemena-based Regional Manager. Jacques, a lay leader in the CEUM (the Covenant Church of Congo), will be working to facilitate connections between PCP and our project partners. He brings a remarkable depth of managerial experience both in the public and private sectors. He holds the Congolese equivalent of an MBA with an emphasis in development. Most recently, Jacques led World Vision’s human resources department. Prior to that, he was the Coordinator of Development for the CEUM, and has also worked as a work inspector for Equateur’s provincial government. Along the way, Jacques has served as a professor at both high school and university levels, teaching business, accounting, and French. Jacques’ professional competence is matched by his calm, affirming presence and a heart for his community, church, and family. His gentle confidence makes him easy to be around, even when situations become difficult. We are very grateful for Jacques and his willingness to serve with us. Welcome, Jacques!
Highrock Acton holds Couples for Congo Fundraiser Dinner & Dance

Highrock Acton Covenant Church in Acton, MA recently held a dinner and dance as a fundraiser for their support of the Kanana Clinic, through the Congo Clinic Initiative.

Pastor Will Barnett says, "We had about 75 people attend and raised a $1,000. Mostly folks were from our church or one of our network congregations, but we had several people invite family or friends from the community. We were also able to raffle off items contributed from a number of local businesses. It was a great community-building, partner-building, invitational event while raising awareness and investment in the Congo Clinic Initiative.
We’ll definitely do it again next year, but are already thinking about how we can improve it and make it even more successful!"
We love hearing about the creative ways our clinic partners are learning about Congo and supporting their clinics. If you have a story to share, please send it to pcpinfo@paulcarlson.org

Develop a Knowledgeable Heart for Congo
The Covenant Church in Congo, the CEUM (Communauté Évangélique de I'Ubangi-Mongala), is located in the Ubangi region (circled), within the Equateur Province. The CEUM runs 5 hospitals and 108 clinics, all in this area. It is the primary medical system available for 800,000 people. Many people live several miles from a hospital, making the clinics the frontline of medical care.
"In today's post-Christian world, we are navitgating uncharted waters where our churches demand innovation at every turn. How do we lead for transformation when the world is transforming even faster? For anyone committed to and dazed by the changing realities of today's church, Tod Bolsinger offers a needed vision."
