Salut Holistique:
The Holistic Gospel
|
|
Dear *|FNAME|*,
Since its inception over 50 years ago, Paul Carlson Partnership has remained committed to high impact medical and economic development partnerships in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As partners with the Covenant Church of Congo (CEUM) we are honored to continue Dr. Paul Carlson’s vision of holistic ministry alongside and in collaboration with CEUM leaders.
Salut Holistique is the French name chosen by leaders of the CEUM to describe an exciting ministry that engages local populations. The meaning in English is Holistic Gospel, and it communicates perfectly the scope and impact of this village-based approach to train, equip, and empower local villages in the Ubangi-Mongala region to develop effective approaches for improving their daily lives spiritually, economically, and health-wise.
It is our joy to know that holistic gospel ministry is happening daily through:
- hospitals and clinics with chaplains, pastors, doctors and nurses
- medical personnel who train colleagues in critical skills to save lives
- village leaders, Congolese technicians, and PCP engineers who guide villages to use local resources to develop clean water solutions near clinics
- CEUM leaders working with village health development committees to develop solutions for malnutrition and specific health issues
- community health evangelism (CHE) approach, working with village leaders to discuss needs, determine resources, and create plans to address village-wide issues
