In-country management and support is crucially important to the success
of the many different projects we sponsor across an area the size of
the state of Georgia. While PCP executive director Byron Miller spends
time in Congo several times each year, there must be reliable oversight
year-round. We have a strong partner in the CEUM, which has networks
and staff in place throughout the area.
Together with that
church, we employ a staff person who works for the CEUM and oversees
the PCP projects. In addition to paying his salary and related
expenses, we are developing resources for people in key roles on the
CEUM staff whose work interfaces with ours. With the help of one of our
church partners we have provided computers and training on their use.
We have taught seminars on local development, proposal writing, and
other relevant topics, and we are working on ways to bring their
bookkeeping systems into compatibility with ours.
