Individuals & Families

Every gift to the Paul Carlson Partnership makes something happen in Congo.

Give

Adults, children, and families can give. A five-year-old girl asked her friends, rather than giving presents at her birthday party, to give money to Paul Carlson for the kids in Congo. Other children have set up lemonade stands or done small jobs. In one family, the parents decided how much to give, then the whole family decided which program area to give it to.

Families may want to look at the For Kids & Families page on this site, which gives information about Congo from a kid’s point of view. For methods of giving, see the Donate Now page.

Volunteer

We periodically send volunteer work teams for 1-2 weeks to do projects in Congo. Sometimes a church provides a team, other times we look for people with particular experience to form a team. Keep an eye on our blog, Congo Currents (linked in the menu on this page), or subscribe to our online newsletter that sends a digest of blog posts. We’ll post an announcement there when we are seeking volunteers.

Advocate

The people of the D.R. Congo live in very difficult circumstances, shaped by their deep poverty and the continuing violence in the eastern part of the country. Not all problems can be addressed by relief and development programs. Some are justice issues. These people, whose voices too often are not heard, need friends in the developed world to speak up for them. Check our blog, linked in the menu above, for some good organizations that are advocating with a collective voice for the people of Congo.

Spread the Word

Tell someone else about Congo, and what the Paul Carlson Partnership is doing there. Friends, family, church mission committees, co-workers, and others. You don’t have to make a speech! Just share your concern about the people of Congo and give your friends our website.

Medical Ambassadors

If you are a medical professional, or someone in another field who has a deep interest in our medical work, we invite you to join the Paul Carlson Medical Ambassadors. This group provides important financial support for our health care programs, and the members have opportunities to become personally involved as well. Contact us for more information.
