The Family Room is a special part of the Paul Carlson Partnership website -- a place where kids and their parents or other adults can learn together about life in places in the world where poverty makes conditions very different from what most of us are used to.
We encourage parents to come to this "room" with their children, rather than letting them come alone. While there is nothing here that would be harmful for children to see or read, the Paul Carlson Partnership does not encourage children under 13 to explore the Web on their own. (Our Privacy Policy is posted on the main PCP site.)
Kids are curious about nearly everything, and we like that! We hope to both s
atisfy and spark kids' curiosity about the places where the PCP works and the people who live there. We are all becoming global citizens, and our minds and hearts grow as we see how similar we all are, even when the circumstances we live in are very different.
In learning about our current country of focus, the Democratic Republic of Congo, we hope children will also gain a window into life in many countries in Africa. The people in much of Africa live with poverty. They are also rich in spirit, hospitality, and hope.
We hope you will give us your feedback, particularly any ideas you have that could make this site better. We've provided a form you can use for your comments.
